I was not there this weekend, although I have been at the Beaufort Air Show many, many times in the past. My husband was one of the Crash Crew members who would have responded to any crash incidents at those shows. It is a terrible and sad thing to see, or hear about one of the elite fliers in our country perishing in an accident. It reminds us that, although these men and women make all of the wondrous things that they do in the air look easy and graceful, that they are dangerous, and take huge amounts of skill and training, and are methods used, unfortunately in warfare to allow you and I the privilege of living here and watching them for pleasure.
Please take a bit of your time to remember the pilot and his family and all of the other families and men and women who give you that gift daily and don't even ask you for thanks.
