I used to have the same problem. But it's all a matter of if you have the opportunity to get to talk to people. For example, in my science class, everyone already knows each other and talks among themselves, so it's kinda hard to talk to people when they are talking to others. But IF you do see a person not talking to anyone, start out by asking something like..."hey what was the homework" or "what are we supposed to do...." and build up a conversation. That was what I did last year, and I made friends. This year, I hardly talk to anyone because I just don't have the opportunity because everyone already has friends whom they talk to every second, and I've accepted that fact. But it doesn't hurt to still talk to the people around you even if they are already talking to people. You could get to be friends with a whole group of people, and that was just what happened to me. Just talk and have fun! =]

I think you should start with making one friend. Start a conversation with them. Maybe ask them a question about school, like, "are you in my english class?" or something like that. But once you have one conversation, you will probably have more. You can ask if you can sit with them at lunch one day. That's a great way to get to know someone. And once you're friends with that person, they'll probably introduce you to more people. :)

yea it would be hard to make new friends when nobody is looking for new friends, but it never hurts to be social with EVERYONE. the key is not t make enemies and to sit with a group of people at lunch and introduce yourself
