I've been to 12 in-service parks and 12 retired parks.

Best for that "steeped in history" aspect would be Fenway Park and Yankee Stadium. To look at the plates and the mounds and the bases and think that Ruth or Williams or Grove or Clemens or Mantle strode those fields -- it's pretty awesome.

That said, Fenway is tiny and cramped and in general built for the early-20th century people, who were smaller on a demographic percentile basis. It's not built for comfort.

As for Yankee, go visit soon, it's going away after 2008 if construction stays on schedule.

Favorite overall for me is the Rangers' park, which used to be known as The Ballpark In Arlington before some mortgage company paid for the name about four years ago -- and which, in typical form, has already blown the deal, so I don't know what it's called now. Roomy, great sightlines everywhere, excellent variety and quality of concessions and amenities. It's a wonderful place to see a game.

Personal worst, without dispute, was Stade Olympique in Montreal. Ouch, whatta dump.

Worst in-service park would be, sadly, Oakland Coliseum. It used to be a very nice park, but then the city caved in to bring back the Raiders and built the Mt. Davis monstrosity, a huge concrete block of seats that looms over the outfield and which destroyed any pleasant view the park once offered. It's depressing to go there now.

Miller Park, Wrigley Field, U.S. Cellular, Fulton-County Stadium, Turner Field, Minute Maid Park (It was Enron Field then...), PetCo Park, Jack Murphy Stadium, Anaheim Stadium, Tropicana Field, and ProPlayer Park.

All of the newer stadiums are awesome, Fulton-County was great mainly because I saw my first big league game there, and Wrigley is just amazing for any fan of baseball for all the history. Jack Murphy and Tropicana were both really rather boring and blaze'; they just didn't have any personality.

My hopes are to add the Oakland Coliseum, PacBell Park, Comerica Park, The Great American Ballpark, and SafeCo Field to the list this season, with an outside shot at Citizens Bank and the BoB.

Parks still here
Orioles park at Camden yards
Shea Stadium
Fenway park
Yankee Stadium
Wrigley Field
==========
Parks long gone--------------
Memorial Stadium, Baltimore
Busch Stadium, St Louis. (the OLD one, used to be sportsman's park)
Yankee Stadium - before it was modernized
The Vet, Philadelphia
Connie Mack Stadium, Phila
Forbes Field, Pittsburgh
--------------
The best, Yankee Statium, new or old.. When you go in you get the creeps, think of DiMaggio, Berra, Ruth, Dickey . , Ford,Mantile,,
Will theYankees win today. What do you mean, of COURSE, they'll win.!!!!!!!!!
The worst, Connie Mack Stadium, Phila..
The stadium wasn't bad, the neighbor hood, A little kid, couldn't be more than 10 years old,"Watch your car for a quarter, mister".your best choice was, ask him if he;'ll do a real good job for 50 cents. Are your tires worth 50 cents?
-----------------
Miked ratings, Fenway Park,if you have good, unobstructed view seats, you're in baseball heaven.
Of you have seats where a steel beam blocks your view of the plate, and another blocks the view of the mound, and you're where you can''t understand the PA system,
you'd love to see the place nuked.

I've only attended Cinergy Field (Riverfront Stadium) and Great American Ballpark, although I've heard Oriole Park at Camden Yards has the best atmosphere.

I've been to Dodger Stadium and Angel Stadium. I like Angel stadium more because of the fountain and the rocks in center field. It looks cool.

I've been to Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati and Jacob's Field in Cleveland (I'm from Ohio so). Really, I liked them both about the same.

I've been to Orioles, Red Sox, Washington, Padres, Mets.

I think all ballparks are great as long as you get to see the game.
