Could you take a broadband modem and connect it to cable modem to increase speed?

ethernet from cable to line in on broadband

no.. your talking about two different types of information steams, and i dont think you would see an increase but rather a decrease if not lost internet all together...

no, you can only use one modem at a time, and you need cable to use a cable modem.
