I think the Lions would favor Quinn. First of all he is more pro ready (a big factor if Detroit picks a QB) and they run an offense that is based on timing and spot throwing, something that most scouts agree Quinn is better at. They cant go wrong (at least initially) with either, it will quiet some of the beatwriters in Detroit and maybe buy Millen a little time with the developement of another QB. Plus Quinn has 3 years of solid football under his belt, the Lions fear that Russell could be the next Akili Smith (another cannon arm QB that had one big season). Remember this team is a bit gunshy after the Harrington debacle....they would go with the guy that they deem a lesser gamble, not neccisarily the guy with the most potential. Quinn got pro style training by Charlie Weis and Weis has publicly said Quinn is just a notch below Tom Brady....dont think Millen wouldnt use that as an excuse if Quinn busts.

Well first of all, Russel won't fall later then a 1st or 2nd round pick. Im sure the Lions would love to have Russel, but Quinn is just as good in my eyes, i think there happy to have a oppertunity to have Brady Quinn.

I think Quinn, who is better than Russell but Russell is rated better because he can throw the 80yards in the air, Quinn is a more complete qb and could easily last many years in the nfl

I really don't like drafting qb this high. Lots of great starting qb are drafted 2nd or 3rd round. First round busts at this pos are better than 50%. I want the Lions to get trade value from probably TB. If TB gives them all their day one picks then Det can drop and take a DT at 4, and TB gets Johnson. I really hope this happens as detroit needs way more than just one player to be competitive and this comes from a season ticket holder.

Simple, they aren't drafting a QB. They are going to roll with John Kitna, and if they are smart......take a chance on Adrian Peterson regardless of their current RB situation.
Take the best available player at that spot, don't be like the Houston Texans not taking Reggie Bush.

russell is a speedy qb and thats the "next generation qb" as they call it, i want to believe quinn will have a better career but russell has alll the arm str. and acc. that quinn has plus size and speed.

I think everyone has Russell over Quinn. Except Weis and Quinn of course. Quinn has bust written all over him

Well, the Lions are terrible at drafting high first round picks(Joey Harrington, Mike Williams, Charles Rogers) and are trying to trade it.
