Cronyism is getting your friends, family and the like jobs in the government even though they don't really deserve it.
Pork is what elected official get for their districts or areas they represent in terms of government spending \ projects. They don't often deserve it but get it because it makes them look good.

Cronyism in politics? Like when the President appoints his brother to the post of Attorney General?
Pork? Typically seen when our elected representatives "coat tail" a special interest project to a bill they know will get passed, knowing that said special interest project would never stand on its own merit. Such projects generally only help a select few and not the whole.

The Bush cabinet seems to be a great example of cronyism in politics. A great example of pork would be Medicare Part D and the tremedous subsidies given to Insurance companies at the expense of children etc.

When you nominate your pals on business acquaintances that is know as cronyism. Pork is when a member of congress adds on to a good amendment to get what he/she wants for his district. If members vote against that amendment then that could be used against him in future elections.
