He's always had that power, and lost around 15 pounds during the off - season, and shortened his swing to concentrate at the plate. Also, this is his contract year. No one seems to be mentioning that, but he is in the last year of his contract, and people always do better in contract years

I've seen numerous questions about A - Rod and steroids, and they all annoy me.

I agree with you 110%!! He lost weight, he has also had that power all along. The sad thing is that the media in baseball hasturned any accomplishment(s) into tainted feats. Their is as much proof that A-Rod is on roids as their is that the moon is made of green cheese. Unfortunately our culture has deemed any athelete doing well in the 21st century as suspect until proven otherwise. It is shameful and downright ignorant to even assume any one is still using steroids. I believe that steroid use in baseball is the most overhyped story in the last 100 years.

Steroids are the modern witchcraft. Just put a big Scarlet "S" on any player and watch the credibility falter. Could A-Rod be on the juice? Sure. Do I think he is? No. Why not? His phyisique and stats haven't really adjusted that much. Truth be told, A-Rod is one of only two "power-hitters" in baseball I would never think of accusing of steroid use -- the other being Ken Griffey, Jr.

In all truth, though, I think in this day and age of baseball, any player that displays a modicum of power is going to be accused of using some type of enhancement. It's just the era we live in. If you're a fan of these guys and are worried about steroid use, you're going to have to be able to shrug it off and have faith that you're backing the right pony.

OMG Thank you! A-Rod is so NOT on steroids. He's always had great power, and a great love for the game of baseball. Lots of people hated him last year, (sadly, even Yankee fans :-( I loved him no matter though <3) and now when he's finally getting the recognition and praise he deserves, he's accused of using steroids. Seriously, lay off people! He's having an unbelievable April, and he'll have an an absolutely stunning year.
A-Rod knows what he's doing both at bat and on the field. Love him lots!
Yankees Love <3

Now I don't mind people asking nicely "Is he for real? Could he possibly be using steroids, or is he just an amazing player?"
But please don't be accusatory if your going to ask, or rather WRONGLY state.

Probably the same stupid reason that when a team wins a lot, a bunch of guys start saying they suck. It's completely illogical and makes them sound like idiots. I think the more honest response would be - I can't do what they do, so I'm jealous.

ARod has always been a great player and a hard worker. After his slump last year, I would expect he's worked hard in the off season to make the changes he needed, and as we can see, it payed off.

look at his old pictures. He was skinny as a rail....Most athletes are on some form or have been.. Steroids are a lot cleaner and hardly any side effects now. Well at least the expensive one's. High grade stuff have very little risk compared to the gain...

Come on! The guy is on track to hit 120 homeruns and 300 RBI's, of course he's going to be suspected of using steroids.

I asked it because of his practically un-human stats so far this season. Plus steroids don't typically cause a growth in someones weight.
