I've found out the sex with each pregnancy, I am the type of person that needs advance warning, and time to prepare. The birth of each child has still be just as special, I think I would have been more in a panic and unsettled if I didn't know the gender beforehand.
good luck to you

Do whatever you want! I had my ultrasound at 19 weeks. The tech asked me if we wanted to know. She was already smiling, so I knew she knew what sex the baby was. I thought that if she knew, and would then tell my ob, why should I be the only one in the dark? It was a fun surprise anyways! If you want to find out, go for it! If you're not sure, wait.
By the way, what is with all the thumbs down for the women who found out the sex before birth? We're just talking about our own experiences!

It`s still a surprise whether you find out mid pregnancy or at the birth..It all depends on whether you want to wait or not..I just found out about 3 weeks ago I`m having a girl and I`m just as excited as I can be!! (I have a girl and a boy already!!) What matters the most in any pregnancy is that the baby is happy and healthy!! Good luck and congrats to you!!

I found out for both my kids just because it made it easier to tell people what you need, and for you to go out and buy things yourself. As far as I was concerned I didn't need anymore surprises, finding out I was pregnant was surprise enough. I think it is ok to find out, who knows maybe it will ba a girl and you'll be even more excited, and if it's a boy you will have time to adjust to the idea of a boy. Either way it will not take the fun out of anything, because baby's are fun.

I found out the sex. It's great because you can have the nursery done and the name picked out by the time the baby is born. I got enough surprises at my shower-my husband and I couldn't wait to find out the sex. We were lucky too. I have had a high risk pregnancy, so we got ultrasounds every week and learned at week 14 we were having a boy. The doctor was 85% sure and now we are 35 weeks and several ultrasounds later have confirmed it.

I was surprised by my first boy, never found out, I actually thought he was a girl the whole time.....My second pregnancy was rough, ended in stillbirth but I found out she was a girl via amniocentesis. Very glad I did that so we named her and felt like we got to know her more than we "actually" did. My third pregnancy, I asked to find out at an 18 week detailed ultrasound I had, we were able to tell my older son who was coming and make him more involved. I don't think it takes any fun or surprise out of it......Delivery isn't fun by the way......Surprising...YES!!!! No matter the sex of the baby........LOL.

I had to have an amnio done due to my age, so the sex of the baby was 100% for sure.
I was glad I found out because I hit a lot of garage sales and saved hundreds of dollars. I purchased over 100 outfits in perfect condition, name brand, for under $200.
Also, it gave my husband and I alot of time to argue over the baby's name-Jordyn Nicole.
Best of luck for a healthy pregnancy and baby.

I found out the sex with all 3 of my younger children the first I didn't know, ( had a feeling it was a girl and was right ) but anyway I wouldn't say that it takes the excitement away it is just as exciting when they tell you in the sonogram room as it is when they tell you in the delivery room, and you get to shop and feel a little more connected to your baby before he/she comes.. it's not easy to get out of the house to shop for a new born after they are born.. I personally didn't have the money to go and buy everything all at once so knowing before the babies came aloud me to get things as we went along... I went crazy not knowing what my first child was and it wasn't because I didn't want to know the machines weren't as good 10yrs. ago and they couldn't get a good enough pic of her, and who wants a bunch of yellow and green stuff for a girl, had to go neutral with her because we didn't know my poor daughter got called him until she was about 6 months old, because everything we had was unisex... GO FIND OUT!!! Nothing to lose everything to gain!!!!

I can't wait to find out. If I had to wait till the baby was born I would go crazy.
Plus if you really want a girl and find out early that its a boy it will give you time to adjust to the thought of having a boy instead of a girl. Just be happy its healthy though.
Good luck and congrats.

I didn't find out with any of my seven children. It is the best surprise you can get!
There is plenty of time to shop. Save your money now and wait until the baby is born.
