Big government does not require hard work and big business does. They penalize success on behalf of those without the will to succeed. "Brilliant" huh.

There is a belief that big business is behind all evil things and that bigger government is better. Bigger government will ensure that the rich will nolonger get "richer" while the poor will somehow be richer. By legislating "equality" to the um-teenth degree, we will somehow be more free.
I am of the belief though, that it will be exactly opposite. Without big business, there will be greater unemployment. Greater unemployment will lead to less money for the poor, thus widening the great class divide even further. I believe that bigger government will remove more freedoms and priviledge. That, by taking from those who've EARNED and giving to those who have not will only lead to a decline equal to that which befell communist Russia. Why strive to get ahead if in the end, big government is only going to take whatever gains you've made and give them to those who did not work as hard? Pretty soon, no one will be working hard. Why bother?

Because they think getting government into everything will help out the poor. They disregard that government is supposed to be small and only where needed and the rest is for people to figure out on their own as social courtesies
The right is all for big business because the right basically doesn't care about anyone but the rich so when big business sucks out all the profits and pays them to the top 10 officers of company instead of investing back into business the right is excited because they will get their kickbacks. "Big Business" is a violation of free market since they lock up all aspects of production creating monopoly/oligarchy and jack up price without providing better service/product.
Both are misguided and have let their pets get out of control. Trickly Down Big Business style doesn't work when the rich suck up all the water and refuse to let it flow down the mountain. Big Brother doesn't help when they get so big and massive they lose the ability to act and when they do it is to step on the toes of my private freedoms to live as I see fit, all in order to make a "equal society" where no one gets offended.

Democrats are not against big business. They use big business to promote things. Ex: The corporation pays for college tuition for an employee. The government reimburses or gives huge tax break to the corporation in return. Businesses don't like having to deal with this type of thing. That is also part of where the big government thing comes in. Dems promote programs that help people get ahead in life. It is very effective but does cost big business some time, trouble, and money to have people to deal with the paperwork.

Because they feel the government cares more for people and fairness and Big Business cares more for money and cronyism.
What do you think?
Businesses have their eye on the bottom line. They are looking for the least expensive way to put out a product or service (outsourcing). Shareholders may or may not reap the benefits depending on how well the company is managed. Workers loose jobs to outsourcing or loose wages and benefits.
We need more Enrons!

Cons are in no position talking about "big bovernment" since they've been enthusiastically supporting the most extreme increas in bot government power and spending since the Civil War (and yes, including the New Deal).
As for opposing "big business," liberals don't,per se. But they do oppose lack of oversight, lack of ethics, and allowing large companies to quash indiviudual rights-including workers' rights. Many large corporations behave responsibly--and should be commended. But those that do not should be held accountablle, not allowed to hide behind a rhetoric of "free markets" to excuse unethical or criminal behavior.

Liberals need people to rely on the government. That's their strategy. Big business means lots of work and Heaven forbid people become employed and the liberals can't give "hand outs" anymore or someone actually has to work to make a living.

lots of those companies are the comparable ones that are in risk of failing because of the fact they are not worthwhile. How is increasing the tax burden going to help something? i'm high-quality with the belief of last tax loopholes, yet you additionally should decrease the corporate tax fees interior the U. S. which you could be a perfect place to do company. The result you could have by employing cracking down on tax loop holes without lowering tax fees is that companies will basically flow all of their operations off shore. as long as you have rules human beings will do their maximum suitable to get around them. each physique needs to maintain as lots of their money as they are able to. by employing lowering tax fees and closing loopholes you will entice companies to maintain their company right here by employing making it greater worthwhile. And attracting greater company will improve sales in spite of if the backside tax fee is decrease on all companies.

because at least in theory, governement is operated by and for the people. business doesn't give a crap about the people, only about making a profit. so if one of them has to be big i would rather it be government.

You mean big government like Bush has?
Conservative economist Bruce Bartlett accused President Bush of "bankrupting" America and betraying the Reagan legacy in an interview on PBS's Tavis Smiley Show on Tuesday.
A domestic policy adviser to President Ronald Reagan and a treasury official under President George H.W. Bush, Bartlett assailed Bush's "big government conservatism" and said he was surprised at Bush's policies, despite his campaign pledge to be a "compassionate conservative."
Liberals aren't for that and liberals aren't against big LEGITIMATE business. We are against poverty at a time of excessive self enrichment in the cooperate world.
