Its Venus. If you just noticed it, wow. Its been there for a few months now. Soon it will set and become a morning star (appears in the morning). You can also see Saturn a bit later in Leo. At about 10:30, it is the really bright star overhead.

Its the planet Venus.
A little known fact about the planet Venus is that it is bright enough that at certain times in it's orbit it is actually visible during the day.
When it is near it's maximum elongation ( angle ) from the sun and also in conjunction ( close by ) with the moon you should go outside and locate the moon. Then use a building to block out the Sun from overwhelming your eyes. Then slowly look around the moon very carefully and after a while you may be lucky enough to see it.
I have done this many times, even at high noon and then shown many colleagues and acquaintance's how it's done.
