Wouldn’t the lava melt the volcano? I mean... Volcano is rock right?

lava turns to molten material to fast, to melt it! however, if it does melt it, it will replace it when it cools and becomes one with the ground! lol! :D i think that is right, or at least i hope it is! :D

It's a good analogy, but you have to remember that lava also hardens into rock. So when a volcano erupts, the lava runs down the mountain, and it quickly starts hardening into rock on the side of the mountain. It takes a long time for the lava to start melting the rock.
