That's the absolute truth. Bush's misguided policies have caused all this mess during his six years in the White House. And already, this childish behavior of his has cost us friendship all over the world (mostly the ongoing mess in Iraq and global warming). You know I hated his guts before he took office. I wish he gets impeached now before leaving office. Now look at the huge political rift he caused in this country. Thank you, Dubya!

As far as the way the world views us, people are fickle, which in this works to our favor. Once someone (a Democrat) takes over, and our imperialistic agenda is ended, and we go back to being a better steward of the world as we've always been, people will come around.
The economy, however, will be much slower to recover from the Bush debacle. Bush has instituted economic policies that will be hard to undo, and has created a vacuous debt from the war and bad economy that will be paid heavily off by our children and grandkids.
It will probably take us 50-100 years to undo the economic damage Bush has inflicted upon this country. It is estimated that each American would currently have to pay $28,000 in taxes just to pay off the distasterous Iraq War that Bush took us into, a war driven by evil chickenhawks with the sole intention of increasing oil prices (his family is heavily invested in oil) and awarding huge no-bid contracts to defense and construction companies whom GWB's family has investments and close ties to.
The Bush family has been pushing for war in Iraq since GB 1's office, which was also a complete disaster. We were in a deep recession and war during the entirety of GB1's presidency, then Clinton came into office and got us out of the mess, now the same thing happened all over again.
I'm not sure what the Republikkkan sheep are missing, besides matter between their ears.

Hard to say. If we keep on voting dipsticks into office, then no, we'll never recover from the damage Bush has done to our international reputation. The worst thing we did was confirm that our military is basically unable to deal with modern guerrilla warfare, a problem that we first started dealing with in Vietnam. But Bush has also dissolved more international treaties than any other president in US history, and the whole "Axis of Evil" business, appointing a joke as the ambassador to the UN, etc., didn't help. To those who blame Clinton: you're incredibly ignorant. The US was very popular internationally when Clinton was president. People abroad didn't care about Monica Lewinsky nearly as much as Americans did.

You are naive for thinking that the world liked us before Bush. They need to work on building their own credibility. Generally, they do not have any, so why should the U.S. be the one doing anything to have these misfits "like" us?
You are far too needy.
How absurd can Libs get? Bend over by yourself, but I don't expect others to play those games dude.
You don'y know America very well, and certainly know little about the rest of the world.

I don't know about others but there used to be a time when I wanted to go to US for my degree from Asia. Seeing what America is doing to rest of the world and especially to the Muslims I don't even watch US movies and try to avoid US food chains and other imported items. Why should I contribute to the US economy.
Beleive me in my circle of friends its not Bush in particular but USA policies which we see as anti Islam. I just hope someone teach US a lesson in the future and what shamefull acts its forces have done all over the world comes back to haunt them.....................

We are Americans and that means we always recover! A slight reminder, however, President Bush is powerful but he, alone, has NOT caused this mess in which we find ourselves!

Bush will never recover, neither will his henchmen.
However the United States will recover and land on its feet. But only if people wake up and get rid of that madman.

And the Democrates hated Lincoln too! Abraham Lincoln was blamed for poor living conditions, inflation, military draft, bad forein relations, and get this constantly relieving his military commanders and chiefs of staff. Hmmmm history repeats it self!

Bush made it plain that the US will help those in need. People may disagree with his policies, but they definetly trust him.
If you want a president who made US a mistrusted country, then try Carter. He abandoned friends and helped turn the best ally the US had in the middle east into its worst enemy. Considering that the Pelosi/Kennedy gang is following his footsteps, it will take ages for the US to be fully trusted again
