What is wrong with you? Just because they can't see doesn't mean they should not be able to date.

A blind date is not a bad thing on its' own. Basically it's just a more formalized random encounter. The problems come in when the hook up is poorly considered by whoever set them up, or if it's truly random like on the TV show. Then compatibility issues come in. Also, sometimes one side or the other will have preconceived ideas and this ruins the whole night. But as long as both people go with an open mind and realistic expectations it can be fun.

It is okay to do so when the person was a "referral" of a good friend. If you just picked up a blind date from a chat room for example then that is trouble most of the time unless you have the guts to go for it.

You could get hurt yes but there is always the chance that you will l meet someone who do get along with/really like. I guess the reason people do it is because they don't have the wide circle of friends to meet people so they take a chance and sometimes it pays off, sometimes it doesn't.

Blind dating is fine. If my parents set me up with a young man they work with, why should I think for one minute that they have poor judgment in people? Now if your talking about meeting people from on-line chat rooms (etc.) then you have a point. But meeting someone vouched for by your friends and family you are wrong.

it is a one off...you don't like the guy..move on..if you're a female and you don't like the guy..pay for your meal and let it ride..just don't give any ideas or mislead the guy..
how much did you really get hurt? you didn't even get a free meal..you just ate in the company of someone you won't meet again...what is the difference between that and eating alone in any fast food joint? plenty of people there you will never see again...
why are you putting all your eggs into a basket like that???
NOW if you BOTH like each other...was it not worth it?

For me it's not right, and I couldn't do it. For people who are sick of being alone, can't find a significant other on their own and they have close friends that know them and want to set them up so they aren't so lonely, I can see that. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't if it works your set and no longer lonely if it doesn't you no more worse off then you were before.
