This TV series was being shown in the early 70's in Nigeria in those days. It is either an American or British film I was still very small in those days. Memory of the serial still come to me. The lead actor is a criminal who runs from the law , hopping from bus to bus.

The Fugitive was an American TV series that ran from 1963-1967. Actor David Janssen played the role of Dr. Richard Kimball, a man falsely accused of killing his wife who stays one step ahead of the police while searching for the real killer.
It was the basis for the 1993 movie where Harrison Ford played Dr. Kimball.

There was a series from the 60's called "The Fugitive" starring David Jensen. It was later made into a movie.

i remember this it used to be on channel 4 the was a film made based on the series with harrison ford playing the doctor who was wrongly accused of killing his wife. a few years later there was a sequel called u.s. marshalls starring tommy lee jones(men in black) and wesley snipes(blade) mainly the same as first but on the run for a different crime.
the series was in black and white and used to come on after rawhide on a sunday morning

I can only think it was the series with David Jansen. He was running from the police after finding his wife murdered at home and he saw a one armed man fleeing the scene.
