Find the slope of the line thru the points (4,2) & (-7,6)

Slope Formula

m = y₂- y₁/ x₂- x₁

Ordered Pair

(4, 2)(- 7, 6)

m = 6 - 2 / - 7 - 4

m = 4 / - 11

rise over run

(6-2)divided by (-7-4)= 4/-11=-.36 repeating so your line must be going downward becasue the slope is negative

change in y/change in x

(2-6)/(4+7) = -4/11
