Sometimes, but not recently. The reason a lot of people do that is either to annoy or to show off, or to be strikingly sarcastic. I've seen most people give random information about a question topic and it doesn't even answer the question which is usually annoying. Unless it's a question like "what is pi?" I think a little more than 2 paragraphs is just ridiculous. Sometimes people want a long answer though in the case of people who are clueless about a particular topic. But for questions such as this simple yes or no question, it's just someone being the aforementioned annoyance, show off, or sarcastical speaker. In the case of me, it's the third.

"Too much" is a relative phrase. How much is too much after all. I'm sure it varies with different people, and imo I'd rather have too much info, than not enough, as long as it's pertinent to the question.

Has this been too much? Or, if I type on for several minutes, rambling, about nothing important, as I'm doing now, is THAT too much? Hmmmm.... seems quite a quandary, doesn't it? And what about people who ask questions in their answer, like I have here? Is that too much? I would think so, since you are never going to answer them.

Too much, or not too much, that is the question, isn't it?

I get people all the time that are asking questions. And they have no idea how deep their questions go.

If you give a succinct complete question, you may get a clear succinct answer.

It is not chat chat chatty with LOL and ROFL and 8 - )

This are people trying to impart truthful information to people who were supposedly interestd.

If you want to ask the question and ignore the answer go back to grade school.

When I get answers to my questions, they are usually short and few and I hate that, so when I answer I try to do the opposite. I didn't know it bothered people, sorry.
