I have a laptop I use at work which our IT department has remoted to before to work on some stuff. I have a feeling a partciular IT person may be spying on me (which of course I know is fine, but I feel it's a vendetta). How can I tell if/when they are remoting to my desktop/laptop and watching what I'm doing?

1: remote assitance: They have to ask permission to view your screen and then take control.

2: Remote desktop connection: You would be logged off your user account because they are remote logging into it.

3: Trojan or key logger: Simple spyware and anti virus scan should get rid of.

yes, you have to ask permission to run remote desktop. But that s not the only program out there, and yes a firewall will help. You can check for any open ports but I don t remember the command. Hope this helps!

If it is in a policy and locked down by admin, they don"t need permission. You people don"t know what you are talking about.

Get a firewall. If they want in they will have to ask you to turn it off.
