The whole third period had to be the worst display of sportsmanship I have seen in a hockey game in years. And Detroit was just minding their own, while Calgary was just placing cheap shots all over the place. Like when Brett Lebda (22-Wings) checked Daymond Langkow (22-Flames) and then Langkow held Lebda's head down and gave him an uppercut to the chin. And no call on Langkow, but Lebda gets the gate for "tripping". What's that about? This series is over. Iginla is just a pussy who can't take losing. He always has to have the last word. Just grow up. He's 30 years old, the captain of an NHL franchise and he just go's around thinking he's tough s**t. He should just get over it. Start thinking about next year because the Flames aren't going to win the series. When the Red Wings win tomorrow, the Flames can just go cry in their homes. As for McLennan's cheap shot, did Franzen even do anything to make McLennan do that. No. That just shows how unsportsmanlike the Calgary Flames are. The whole team, coach, players, families, the GM, President, Owner, fans even trainers should put a paper bag over their head because I know that I wouldn't want my face being shown after a performance like that. Unbelievable. Worst display of sportsmanship. I don't care if Calgary has a reputation of being a hard hitting team. I like watching games when there are big hits, but to play like they did in the third period is just nuts. They were already going to lose. Just get over it and get ready for next season. GO RED WINGS!!!!!!!

Yeah, the whole thing was pretty suspect. Detroit was knocking Kiprusoff around, and as a former goalie, you get to a point where enough is enough, especially when the refs don't call it until halfway through the 3rd period. I think they legitimately pulled Kiprusoff to rest him a bit, and make sure he didn't get injured in case things got out of hand. McLennan's actions I believe were his own. After watching everything from the bench, I think he went out there with the attitude of, "they better not get near me". The initial two slashes on whoever was in front of the net, is something that a lot of goalies do to try to get a player that's screening them out of their way. Watch some old videos of Ron Hextall, he practically looked like he was playing golf with the forwards legs sometimes. It is still illegal, but something goaltenders get away with sometimes. McLennan took those a bit too far, and then out of frustration with the penalty, and whoever the Detroit player was skating through the crease after the whistle, he snapped. It's unfortunate and stupid. The next game should be intense.

One wonders if he wasnt put on the ice to do such a dirty thing. Obviously the Flames have embarrassed themselves maybe to the degree of being one of the worst shows of class in the history of the game. The organization should be mortified that they acted so classless and Iginla was pretty much the ringleader (I actually thought he was a pretty classy player before the completely gutless butt end and crosscheck). Hopefully McClennan loses his career over such a shameless act and if the league is serious about cleaning up the dirty plays then Iginla should be looking at a 7 to 10 game suspension as well. And the league needs to hit Playfair (kinda ironic name at the moment) with a $50,000 fine and the Flames organization with an equal fine. I love a hrd fought hockey game but they went WAY past doing the right thing and embarrassed the game of hockey by doing so on a nationally televised game. As a team they embarrassed themselves, their organization, the game of hockey and their families as well. It was shameless and they have a lot of apologizing to do....DISGUSTING, not even harsh enough to describe what they did!

Wasn't Bush there to acknowledge and celebrate Israel's 60th year anniversary of independence? Why in the hell use this opportunity to take a cheap shot at your party's political opponent in an upcoming American election? This again goes to show Bush's idiot level of competence when it comes to foreign policy. On Bush's last day in office, America should declare a national holiday and celebrate his departure.

I thought it was a really cheap shot. I mean, why would you do that? Well there is a good thing that came from the slash. The wings will have more of a reason to kick Calgary's butt.

It was TOTALLY out of character for McLennan which is why I'm wondering just what is going on. I think there are things going on down on ice level that isn't being said. Refs need to stop looking for the stick infractions and start calling roughing calls on both teams. If they had I doubt this would have happened.

The Flames always get frustrated late during road games. That's most likely one reason why that they hold the shittiest record on the road.

F*** Calgary. Their the cheapest team in the playoffs. That slash on Franzen was ordered by their head coach. I'm surprised that thee wont be a suspension dealt out to the head coach even if he didn't order that cheap blow
