Unless the structure is known, it is best to put them in alphabetically or by electronegativity. Thus, alphabetically, it would be C8H5KO5 (K is potassium) By electronegavity, the formula is KH5C8O4. (Remember, the numbers are subscripts and go underneath.)

what is the correct formula for what? you just have a list of four elements...several combinations are possible- carbon mon/dioxide, water,etc.

you can do them in any order and use the short form (periodic table form)
and go like this

double check the short form for potassium im not sure if its just P
