My personal opinion? IGNORANCE, GREED, NARCISSISM and INTOLERANCE are the root of all evil...the love of money and all other wicked behavior stem from those.

No. The full quote is "The love of money is the root of all evil". However, I would disagree with this. I think it's the love of power that is the root of all evil. Along with power goes self-righteousness, and that, too, is at the root of much evil.

No, the LACK of Money is the root of all evil. the lack of money causes desire, which then leads to greed and unstable adoration of money. As long as one appreciates what money one has, and exploits that money as is needed, then no evil would result. Unfortunately, most people are unable to do so.

No, its is about half true. True, money leads to greed, which leads to violence and evil plots. But nothing is evil just like nothing is really good, because too much of anything can be evil, too. It is the combination of good and evil that makes the world go 'round. So even though it sounds heartless, having evil around is as much good as bad.

The correct wording of this saying is, "Love of money is the root of all evil". Someone may not have a dime, but may commit horrible crimes to get money, even if they don't get any.

But I think it's false. Some people do terrible things for other reasons than money. They act for power, or revenge, or love, or hate.

That's not the correct quote. It should be "For the love of money is the root of all evil."

if money is the root, what are the branches made of?

money only becomes evil when you make the most important thing in your life. when that happens, a person becomes selfish and does not care about peop.e he/she only seeks to make as much cash as possible without any regards to who gets hurt along the way.

so let money never be your goal in life. let it be love, friendship, and wealth be the things you want most. by wealth, i mean not just money to spend now, but also for later.
