Am I the only one who finds it super annoying when people don't give any respect to our president. Yes, I know he did make some really bady mistakes.. but I would like to see you or the media try to run this country...no one is perfect... Why do people call him stupid and stuff like that just because he is not good at talkin/saying speeches ( not everybody is good at everything). I also think it is really mean how people make jokes about him being a stupid farmer from Texas, etc.... I just think its disprespectful. WHat do you think?

If someone is going to be one of the most pwerful people in the world, "no one is perfect" doesn't cut it. Not when you make things happen that cause lives to be lost and irreparable damage to be done to our country, the effects of which we will be struggling with for decades. Those aren't, "Oh, oops, hehe, shouldn't have put 2 cups of salt in the cake instead of sugar, they sure do look alike ha ha ha" type of mistakes. They are decisions that he should be held accountable for.

I do, however, agree with you that jokes told about him being from texas and whatnot are just stupid and obnoxious.

...especially when there are so many legitimate things to make fun of him for.

People have always made fun of presidents and all public figures. I enjoy a lot of it. But the horrible things that are said and done now are a disgrace to our country and are having ramifications around the world. And there is no shame.

When Clinton was in office there was a lot of talk about his influence on the sex lives of young people. I thought then, and know now, his influence has been in disrespect and the integrity he brought to his office. People who hated Clinton did not talk as vile and vicious as the Bush haters now do. Especially the people who were young teens during the Clinton years.

Unfortunately, it comes from the top of the socialist/Democratic party. It is played out near its worse among some of the slime on this board. If we end up with a Democratic president, heaven forbid, you will see the difference in how those opposing him still respect the office. It is a matter of respecting your country, its systems, its heritage, and its future.

Respect is not something that is a guarantee for anyone. Respect is EARNED. He has not earned it.

Because of Bush:

America, once the "best" country in the world, is now looked at negatively by many countries that were once our allies.

Thousands of soldiers have died in a war that we went into over a bit of misinformation. Rather than admit that the war is wrong, he refuses to pull out.

The rights that once made this country great vanish more and more every year. The "freedoms of America" that my father and grandfather fought for, and my grandfather DIED for, are gone. No foreign nation or terrorist took them. Bush did.

Bush promised to lower taxes for the "common man". Instead he took away the "death tax". This tax is only charged on your estate, however, the first MILLION DOLLARS are exempt. The Common Man does not leave more than a million dollars to his heirs. This was not a tax reduction for everyone, merely for his rich friends.

Anyone involved in major crime that is a friend of Bush or Cheney has been pardoned, and paid no time for their crimes, regardless of the suffering they have caused Americans.

Bush has not earned my respect. I cannot and will not respect a man who is destroying the nation I once loved so much. I don't respect Traitors.

I believe that every American should have respect for the President of the United States of America, no matter if they are a Democrat or a Republican. The office of the Presidency of the United States of America is the most powerfulest office in the world. Not only does he have to make decisions that faces the United States, but has to make decisions to impact the planet. As for President Bush, I know that he is not perfect but then again, there is no such thing as a perfect leader. President George W. Bush is doing the best he can for the United States of America and although many Americans believe his policies are lame now, 10 years from now I truely believe they will say he made infulencial decisions to help out the world.

respect is earned not given.
every president has been made fun of. Ford was a clutz and SNL used to have skits about him falling and dropping things- it wasn't done to be mean.
Bush is generally made fun in a mean way because of the things he's done.

if you trip everything you walk but have good policies people will still like you and respect you

if you can't speak correctly and have bd/failed policies people won't like you and they won't respect you.

He has willfully disregarded anything anybody has told him that does not mesh with his own particular faith-based reality. Worse, he has directly caused a hundred thousand deaths in the process. The list of his fumbles is FAR longer than the list of his receptions. His list of errors outnumbers his list of successful plays. that's not the guy you want to be captain of the team.

We don't want him to be perfect.

We want him to make sense and perform his duties competently, and he can do neither.

Well personally for me someone has to earn my respect to be worthy of it. When he has done something worthy of respect I will respect him.

I will never say he should tried for war crimes or put in jail though, don't get me wrong. I respect the Office of the Presidency but I do not respect the man who currently holds that office.

One has to earn respect and he has not done this. I find the man to be an embarrassment and disgusting.

He works for us, the tax payers. If we think he is doing a poor job of running the country, we have the freedom to say so.

That is the kind of freedom this country was founded on.
