I work in home health and they do not pay us to go to the client's home. They do pay for mileage when we have to run errands for the client once we get there. I wish they would pay us to go to the homes. I work 20 miles from home!

Most usually don't...what are we talking here? Pizza delivery? Some may pay so many cents per mile, but many don't. So unless the tips are great, the best bet...find a better job.

Gas is just the tip of the iceberg...figure gas...AND oil, (regular changes at roughly 3000 miles?)wear and tear on your car, tires, insurance and other fees. No way would I use my own car to make someone else money without compensation. They just do that to free them of liability and cost of having a fleet of cars. Why your at it, why don't you let them run their business out of your home?

it would be nice, not sure if everyone does get paid for gas, but i can say, what u need to do is write down the mileage every morning before work and when u get home, because it is a write off for ur car come tax time.

Some do and some don't. there is a standard tax dedction per mile, when you file your taxes. Keep exact records of your mileage and write them in a notebook every day and night. You can save a lot on your taxes. good luck

'They' don't have to, no.

If you work as an independant business, just put it in the bill as 'travel expenses'. If you work for a large company, you can probably apply for travel expenses, you won't lose anything by trying.
