I'm ashamed to say that, at 22 and with my own house, my dad STILL does it, because I can't.

Every 2 weeks for every item you listed, and once a week for oil.. just to be on safe side.

BTW.. you can't trust the readings on any petrol station air/tyre air pressure device. They are usually very inaccurate.

You need your own device. I have both the best rated, 1 and 2 in this product review: (They are both great)
http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/products/66830/tyre_pressure_gauges.html

If you drive around with inadequate (very low) air pressure in your tyres, you might be breaking the law. You can't judge tyre pressure by visual looking. If you have a crash in those circumstances.. its possible you might go to jail. Also having correct pressure in your tyres gives you better fuel economy.

I do a walk around my car and look at the tires before i get into it. Once a month I check my oil, washer fluid, tranny fluid just to make sure everything is topped up... I just wish I could remember to keep the gas topped up...lol

thats so funny you should ask this question.

i went to my car this morning to go to the mall and buy a last minute baby shower gift for some witch who i onkly pretend to be friends with and my batterey was dead.
and so i had to have it towed to the dealership, and apparently i was 6 months over due for an oil change, needed new brakes, and had no fan belt....

Yep. I get the oil and filter changed every 3k miles, get trans. flush every 35k, coolant flush every 35k, check fluids, hoses, belts, brakes and get tires rotated, periodically.

Preventive maintenance saves big $$$$

Yes. But I don't have to worry about it as much as I used to. I drive a new car. I got fed up with driving cars that always quit.
