Well, everyone is different and I judge people as individuals not as an entire geographical group. I went to England in 1976 to visit a friend who'd married an Englishman. I loved England and most everyone I met was lovely, charming, and helpful.
There are rude, unpleasant people, I'm sure, in every country of the world, just as there are nice ones.

Same as the Duke of Wellington's:
"I don't know what effect these men will have on the enemy, but by God they frighten me"
To be more fair there is a vast range within Britain, vocally and culturally, and an accent can change within 30 miles or less.
Not all are upper class, with accents to match,
(Sex: what people in Kensington put their rubbish in.)
or rural, (Jargon: what people in Norfolk do for exercise) nor even East-end gangsters:
"You slag! I'll 'ave you, for what you did to my bruvver."
And British , strictly, includes the Welsh and the Scots. A whole new set of accents at the very least!

Worked w/ quite a few "Brits" & if they're representative, OK w/ me.
A couple of A..holes , but that's just proof that they're everywhere.
Lots of fun.
Mutually enjoyed the differences & similarities.
The impression is , more" world wise" than we are in the colonies.
No idea who the TV guy is....never watched the show.
Best regards
