Agree or not with the war most sane people even folks like Bill O' can tell you the lack of planning after Sadaam had been terrible. Mainly not enough troops and even still not enough with the "surge." Why are they being sent in 1000 at a time instead of all 20000 at once.

No alternative plan for not being greeted as liberators.
No plan for potential looting and anarchy.
Dissolving regular army and police, creating armed
unemployed and angry Iraqis.
Making the Baathist party illegal, leaving no infrastructure.
Assuming Sunnis and Shiites would set aside 1500 yrs of
hatred and animosity to unite around a country whose
borders were created arbitrarily by the British 70 some years ago.
