i was talkin to my friend and he wasn't acting like himself... I think it was because he was hanging out with his friend. I told him I didn't like it. he said he was just being himself. I asked him if that meant that he wasn't being himself around me and he said yes. i want him to be himself... should i be mad at him?

Won't do any good guys always act different around other guys. It's a macho thing. Age has nothing to do with it either.

Don't be mad at him. Tell him to be himself around you. Tell him that there's no reason for him to act any different in front of you.
Honestly, I think he likes you more than a friend and he's trying to impress you.

People behave differently depending on who they are with but different attitudes of a person are part of who they are. So I think your friend's attitude which seemed as if he is not acting himself is also what he really is as well as the day he acts when he is with you.
