Foe at this point - but friend over the long haul because, as China gets a bigger piece of the economic pie, it also has a stronger interest in maintaining world stability.

I think China, economically speaking, is a foe of the United States for the simple fact that more things sold in the US are from China (and other countries) than from our own country. Companies are regularly taking their businesses outside the country for profit and profit only, and then bring their wares back into the US to sell for outrageous prices. Countries like China, and others, who undermine the economy of the US are just as much our enemies as Iran, North Korea, etc. In fact, in my opinion, they are a bigger threat than the warmongering countries could ever be.

I think we need them as a friend, but they are becoming more and more of a foe.
Since so many things are manufactured in China, the economy would take a serious hit if China stopped trading with us.
However, China is in the midst of our modern day power struggle, and shortly it will become the predominant world power.
Enjoy!

eks_spur…is right on target. The one worlder neocon elitists are out to destroy every last vestige of manufacturing in this country under the guise of free trade and tax evasion loop holes. In just under two weeks the 75 Mexican trucking firms are going to get a free pass, compliments of these same destroyers, to enter our country with their trucks, and swarm over the countryside - our Sovereignty will be all but destroyed at this point. Why have border guards when the treasonous actions of our state department turn a blind eye to 11,000 illegals daily coming across our borders?
Why have border patrols when those without driving permits, auto insurance (that you and I are required by law to have), and authorized compliance with EPA emission standards are met, can drive across the border with our present administrations blessings and encouragements to do so?

Friend. Unlike the answer that says they are taking American jobs, I have to disagree. I see American companies handing them our jobs. No folks, American companies do not have your best interest in mind any more. They are opting out for cheaper labor and not promoting any requirements for a higher standard of living for these foreign labor markets. The facilitators are all in our own government, they are the ones allowing these trade agreements to be passed.
No, anymore I think of most American companies as Special Interest Groups for Foreign Labor. I don't think we should be subsidizing any foreign labor markets, by handing our tax dollars to American company owners that have laid off workers here, so they can build new plants in any other country.
Guys like John McCain can protest pork all he wants, he has a mouthful right now.
