If you have gotten into any UC school, you would be a fool to go to a CSU school. The CSU schools are not very selective, while the UC schools (even Riverside) are among the best public universities in the country. Don't even think about going to CSUN

That being said, UCI and UCSB are both ranked higher than UCR. If you are interested in finance or something related to economics, a degree in Business Econ from those schools would be better for you. If you are considering concentrating on management or marketing, then the BSBA would probably be better.

You should definitely go to USC if you can afford it. If not, try taking out a loan. Because you are a business major, you're going to want to come from the absolute best university you can possibly get into. Business happens to be the more common major employers will see and you want to separate yourself from the pack — coming from a better school will greatly help. Plus, since USC is a private university, class sizes will be smaller and more engaged. UCI and UCR are both located in a suburban area. However, I would personally choose UCI over UCR. Irvine is a fairly new city and there are many unique types of businesses there. Many good restaurants, shopping centers, and it's also surrounded by other Orange County cities which provides even more entertainment opportunities. I must also mention that Google and many other large companies have branches out there. So by going to UCI as a business major, you will be more likely to obtain internship opportunities thus improving your chances of employment. UCR, in my opinion, feels like a desert: hot, dry, and in the middle of nowhere. My friend goes there, and he has also said the same thing. Also, UCI is much more prestigious. Their programs are quite well-rounded; faculty and students are very intelligent. My ranking for the schools: 1) USC: Well known academic and sports wise. 2) UCSB: academics are on pair with UCI but the area and social life are unrivaled. Nothing tops a university that has a beach as it's backyard. 3) UCI: Good academics, located in a really nice city, and located in the heart of Orange County. 4) UCR: Okay academics, bottom of the UC rankings, easy to succeed in school though. 5) CSUN: Really good state school. Strong programs but unfortunately, UC's are more recognized by employers.

Yes, as the person above me said, CSUN should be out of the question. You have to consider how things work in the real world. In the business world, you are hired on your credentials (we are a credential society). That being said, both UCI and UCSB rank hire (both are in the top 50 schools in US), while UCR isnt in the top 50. Sure, UCR offers the specific major your interested in, but, I can almost guaruntee you Businesses will be more interested in you if you went to UCI or UCSB because it is more selective than UCR. Just food for thought.
