I am doing research on the Bermuda Triangle and I cannot find anything that explains what "all hands" means.

example: "USS Cyclops disappeared with all hands."

All hands on deck, meaning everybody who was on board. So another way to put it would be "USS Cyclops disappeared along with everybody on board".

All hands simply means all the people aboard. This means that they couldnt find the ship or the people on it.

it means the ship had disapeard with all the people on it .the crew and capan evry one .like in books and movies it calls fore all hands on deck it is asking fore all crew members on the top dec of a ship evry one .

remember hearing "All hands on deck!" in movies? all hands just means every person that was on the ship.
