I had to quit wearing liquid makeup and most powders some time ago because I was just itchy, itchy, itchy whenever I put it on. These are all hypoallergenic and I still had problems! I really want something that evens out my skin tone in the summer and have considered that Bare Minerals makeup shown on TV. What do you think? Are there cheaper, similar products?

If regular foundations make you itchy--bare minerals may too due to the bismuth oxychloride. There are tons of companies out there--just as wonderful and less expensive. Most smaller companies offer samples--either free or very reasonalby priced so you can find your foundation shade--I recommend:

Well It Depends On If Your Allegric To Bismuth or Not. Wouldnt Get Bare Crapables If I Where You. Go With Neutrogena Sheer Minerals Powder Foundation Or Clinique Almost Powder Makeup yes Neutrogena Is In Walmart. Clinique Is In SOME ULTA's And At Most Malls.

I notice that Bare Minerals makeup tend to wear off easily but does not irritate your skin or eyes at all.
For a cheaper alternative for sensitive skin, you can try Physicians Formula.

mineral makeup will have less allergens but some mineral makeup like bare minerals still have fillers and allergens such as Bismuth Oxychloride. it's best to check out mineral makeup made without allergens such as everydayminerals and j.lynne. both are inexpensive compared to bare minerals makeup on tv. here's a link to some info on mineral makeup allergens

I ordered some samples of it, and I was a tad upset because it made my skin look ashy. It didn't make me break out or anything though. I know several people who wear it, and are extremely happy with the outcome.
