There are 4 - 5 dogs around the chickens, they don't notice stuff like that unless it's bothering them.

Geese sounds like what I'm interested in because I was considering turkeys.

A dog.

Additional: You need to train the dogs to protect the chickens and be alert to certain predators. Having a dog is no good if it isn't properly trained, but a trained dog is the best animal to protect them.

If you are looking for ONE ANIMAL to do it all... there isn't one.
You are looking for a "cure all" for many different threats and mention certain animals.

Hawks can be a problem but it is minimal.
Armadillos are no threat... they eat worms and grubs but DO DIG.. and that can be a problem.
"Chicken Snakes" -- (Rat, Corn or just snakes), can be a problem. Snakes have the ability to enter most cages and free range chickens (chicks) are good food.

Other threats that you have not mentioned are:
Raccoons, Bobcats, Weasels, Skunks, house cats, neighbor dogs ....FIRE ANTS in the South.
I have even had a MOLE come up from under ground and steal chicks.
You will have losses, no matter how well you try to protect the chickens.. NOTHING is 100% fool proof.

Most of the serious answers are good suggestions: dogs or geese. I used to work for a major poultry production company and some of the poultry farms we visited had cats. The cats were raised with the chickens as kittens and they never bothered the birds. Plus, they keep mice out!

A herding dog like German Shepherd, Koolie, Border Collie, etc. But I prefer Shetland Sheepdog coz for me its the best dog to guard any poultry animals. If you want a list of herding dogs, check out this website:

Their pen needs a cord suitable as nicely as cord on the backside, i be attentive to you stated you're basically apprehensive approximately an eagle yet there are foxes, coyotes, and skunks too and that they are going to dig under the aspects of the pen to get on the chickens.

A german shepard is good, but you should go with more security like trip wires or a better fence because an animal only stays active for so long

I'd recommend geese, they actually take their guardian role very seriously, honk a lot, and sometimes challenge/attack the threat. Those big wings and bills can be a menace, I've seen them spooking hawks that have come to perch near the chicken/duck pens.

Their honks and hissing usually help signal chickens to take cover too.
