My movie theater in town, which is a clearveiw theater( a big company so i'd imagine they have acess to many movies), usally only ever shows independant films and almost never blockbusters, does anyone know why? and does anyone know who decides what the theater shows?

IF it is a big company with many theaters, then the theaters will try not to have the same movies playing at the same time, so the president/manager/CEO of Clearview will decide what movies play where. If you would like to see some different movies see if you can write to the headquarters. Hope this helped.

The theatres decide for themselves. Some have contracts with certain distributors and show the films they distribute.

generally the management or the corporate heads choose the films, depending on the money they have to spend to get a movie.

the individual theaters choose what they show.
