Oceanography allows us to better understand the flow of the water in the oceans, and to more confidently model changes in the flow if there is warming. Sociology and anthropology helps us to better understand the impact of external changes on human behavior and perhaps ways to minimize harmful effects.
Agriculture helps us better plan for use of crops in regions where a transition of weather is going on.
