2 cats- the girl is Shakti, for the Hindu goddess of creation; the boy is Dionysius (Dio) for the Greek god of wine, love and peace (he's so sweet!)
My brother's cat is named Astarte, for a Sumerian goddess of creation, and my mother's cat is named Bastet, for the Egyptian cat goddess. (Yes, we did it on purpose-we went to a lot of pains finding god/goddess names for all of them! We thought it would be funny, since cats do think they rule the world. ^_^)
My family also has 3 dogs-one boxer/lab mix named Amaretto (he's almond-colored), a Dalmatian mix named Ananda (it means "the joy without which the Universe would fall apart" in Sanskrit. She's a very happy dog!), and an unidentifiable mixed breed named Ninuk (it's her name-she told me. *lol* Really-I looked at her one day, and the name just popped into my head. "Ninuk!" I said, and she looked at me. She's responded to it ever since. Weird but true.) My mother also has a tortoise named Lutmina. She was adopted from a little girl at the school where she teaches who couldn't keep the critter anymore because it had grown way too big (the shell was 1 foot long at that time-she's even bigger now!). The tortoise came with that name and we let it be; it just seems to fit her.
I also had a string of gerbils named Aldebaran, Oberon, and Nebula, for stars.
So yes, lots of strange names! *lol*

I had a blind black cat I named BOO BOO. He never got big because of a respiratory infection. I stole him from the Humane Society when they said he was going to be killed. Sadly, he didn't live but 3 yrs as he disappeared while I was away awhile unplanned. The other, Pumpkin, was also black he lived with me 10yrs and now is still in Hawaii selecting his retirement with a bunch of cats by a friends home. He did not like the BF lab named Melekai which means song of the ocean in Hawaiian.
Weird names are unique and kool.

I used to have a ciclid (fish) that I sucked up in the vacuum tube while cleaning the tank.
When I got him out, he didn't use his fin for a while.
Finally he started using his fin again some days later.
From that day forward I called him ..... Finnegan " Fin-again"

nicely i won't be able to say mine are all that unusual, yet listed right here are the names of the cats I definitely have had over the years and the story in the back of each and every~ Frisky~ conventional sufficient call for a wharf cat that shall we in no way tame. He develop into my first cat while i develop into 5 and that i enjoyed him dearly. i develop into devastated while he develop into hit by a motor vehicle and killed. Snookie~ My next cat that we had for 15 years. My Dad named her so i'm not sure the place that call got here from. We referred to as her Snookie, Snook, vast woman, Muffin, Pudding cup and Melon Ball because of the fact she loved those ingredients. Earmuffs~ She lasted for 14 years, and we named her this because of the fact while she develop right into a kitten she had slightly beige dot in the back of each and every ear that jogged my memory of a pair of earmuffs. Satin~ She lasted purely a 300 and sixty 5 days, We had to have her placed to peace because of the fact she progressed intense heart trauma that the vet pronounced that she develop into possibly born with. We referred to as her devil, some situations, because of the fact she develop into so undesirable, and we referred to as her Girly-woman, because of the fact she develop into this type of diva while she wasn't being undesirable. Sweetie~ She is our present day cat and the affection of my lifestyles. She develop right into a rescue cat that I have been given from the vet after Satin, and as quickly as I asked if she had a attractiveness the assistant pronounced no, yet she develop into this type of alluring, loving cat and this type of sweetie that she could desire to be uncomplicated to call, and consequently that call caught. So there you're, that's the story of all my cats. thank you for asking, and have a intense high quality day. ~ by ways, that's sweetie in my profile %.
