He would have lived in a castle.

A page first worked. He spent half his time as a servant to some noble or other and half the time learning some of the arts of knighthood.

Then he became a squire and wandered around with an actual knight, doing knightly things.

After that, he was knighted and went on his merry crusading way.

The page becomes attached to a knight and accompanies the knight wherever he goes. The knight teaches the things the page should learn, and when the knight believes the page is ready, he is made one in a big ceremony with the sword on the page's shoulder, etc. If he champions a maiden, he gets her scarf (colors) and wears it. I'm not sure, but I think he can stay with his original knight, or find someone else who wants a knight to travel with.

He had to be of a undeniable social point even to be seen, (often had to furnish a minimum of a 'starter set' of palms, and a mount), then served an apprenticeship with a knight as a squire. He became into required to 'coach himself in some way in journey or somewhat conflict, (however his knight became into meant to 'buyer' him and develop his case), till now being well-known and 'dubbed a knight with the aid of a member of the the Aristocracy. there became right into a ceremony related to a vigil and an oath of fealty to a noble.

They would have lived in the castle of an overlord. The overlord was responsible for training them and in retrun the knight in training would fight for the overlord.

As far as I know, they travelled about on a quest for gallantry but would have had loyalty to the King.
