Stifling of debate starts with the absolute prohibition imposed against asking the basic, fundamental question: Does the State of Israel have a "right" to exist as a state?

Israel is not Judaism, a religion. Israel is not the Jews, a people. Israel is a state. A state is an artificial creation.

The creation of a state of Israel was proposed in 1897 at the First Zionist Congress, in Basle, by Chaim Weizman. This required converting benign cultural Zionism into a militant political movement. Zangwill opposed it but Weizman won.

Many alternative sites were then proposed, such as Uganda, Madagascar, even Alaska. But Weizman's fanaticism drove him to insist that only Palestine would do, and to hell with the Palestinians. No surprise that there has been nothing but trouble ever since.

And the flag of Israel today is the flag of the aggressive Zionist party at that first Congress in 1897. It does not represent the reasonable elements among Israelis and the world's Jews, and certainly does not stand for the many Christians, Arabs, Druze and others living there under Zionist rule.

More open questioning and debate is needed.

Isn't it great how Americans will arm and equip Israelis to throw Palestinian Christians from thier homes. No wonder Christians in the Holy Land support Hamas

What House

No, 5 Arab attacks and a multitude of terrorist killings have done that. If the terror groups around israel disarmed there would be peace, if Israel disarmed Hitler's Final solution would be accomplished. Arabs have not proven they want peace.
