I've got a school project and we have to do a multiple regression and write a paper about our findings. Everyone in the class seems to be doing football so I want to be unique. I'd like to stay away from sports but I also must have a topic that has a lot of information available. Any suggestions on a non-sports topic?

Here is an interesting one I heard about. US News and BusinessWeek publish a lot of information about the top business schools.

Use Average Starting Salary for graduates as the dependent variable. For the independent variables, use average GMAT, log of the school's rank, average GPA and the number of students in each class (you might try the log of the number of students). You may find other information to use as well.

You should find out that the most important of those variables is class size.

Try talking with your professor. Ask about previous topics that students have tackled or topics that the professor thinks would lend themselves to his/her requirements for the assignment. Is this a stats course?
