I'm about 67% sure it's Jonathan Brandis, but all I can remember is a mom bringing her kid back from the dead and seeing a scene where he's kneeling at the front door in the rain. They play "hide and seek" or something, and it's just really creepy. It might not be him because I looked at his IMDB profile and couldn't see any movie that sounded like what I'm thinking of. This has literally been bothering me for years.

if it's not the late mr. brandis, it actually sounds at least a LITTLE bit like a movie called The Reflecting Skin. creepy movie, seem to remember some hide and seek, not sure, though. could also be The Lady in White with lucas haas. best i got, man, good luck.

He's hardly been dead for over a decade, try like 4 years in November.
Death by suicide, probably helped by the fact his role in Hart's War was left on the cutting room floor.
