laptop to wireless?

can you help me please im a novice when it comes to laptops. have brought a advent 8109 and have a bt home hub wireless router how do i make the laptop wireless.

You need to buy a wireless internet card for your laptop. You can get either a card that fits into a slot on your laptop. (The wide and very thin one yours might not have one) Or you could get the type of wireless adapter that plugs straight into a USB port. Which is the hole where you'd plug in a printer, mobile phone, webcam or whatever.

Alternatively, you could have got a laptop with built in wireless like I did as you then don't have to worry about getting anything else.

To get either type of wireless adapter I'd recommend getting it from either www.dabs.com or www.novatech.co.uk As both are reliable places to get computer and laptop stuff and are a lot chepaer than in store prices in places such as PCWorld.

if your laptop has a wirless card , it'll pick up the signal automatically.if so u just need to click on your internet connection n choose ur network n click on it.ur internet connection icon can b found just at the very right bottom of ur screen beside the clock with the 2 computer connected together icon on.
if your laptop isn't wireless , u need to buy either wireless usb or pci card to hav ur laptop capable of wireless ability.

if your notebooks comes with a built in wireless card, then just swicth it on. find the switch, it usually looks like an antenna or signal something like that. and then it will scan if there is available wireless access network around the area.

what do you do with a laptop? can i switch it with banana?

you have to get a wireless internet card for example im using one right now mines a D-Link Air. Im sure pc world might be able to help you there.
