i just got home from the pet store and i bought a male and female guppy//\\they had the male and female guppies seprate but i noticed they had about 2 male guppies in the female tank so i was wondering if my female guppy could be pregnant because it had a gravid spot a very smalle one u could only c it on one side of her can she be pregnant ?? ? ?

when a guppy has a gravid spotr does this mean shes pregnant
once they become pregnant do they ge ta gravid spot becuase my gupppy had one but she aint fat at all

If she was in the tank with a male guppy then yes, she is pregnant.
ADDITION: Yes, the gravid spot means she's pregnant.

Some of my female guppies have had gravid spots for a month, and it isn't until they get jet black that I am convinced they are pregnant. you can sex guppy fry from 1-2 weeks old, using the gravid spot as an indicator, but they cannot be pregnant at that point... so it doesn't necessarily mean she is, but like the people above said, it is a slim chance she isn't. Also, you will want to get at least one more female guppy, or your male will torment her, and could even stress her to death. You need at least 2 females per male guppy so he can spread out his affection on more than one female... :) Good luck :)

like if you got a female in a tank and you introduce a male guppy for about 10 mins. more than likely shes pregnant that fast.

She is pregnant. Male guppies will impregnate a female within seconds. Real players.

It would be amazing if your female guppy ISN'T pregnant! Not only that, she can have several pregnancies from one breeding. You're going to have LOTS of guppies!!!

of course cuz when they are pregnant they have a black spot under them
