IB diploma does it guarantee your place into an ivy college? or how much does it help 10 points for a good answer. i am in clubs but currently dont have any leadership positions. i have volunteered a lot. do u think i have any chance for an ivy

It's certainly not a guarantee. There are no guarantees when it comes to getting into a particular college. They'll appreciate that you've worked hard by taking advanced courses, but the other students who have applied to the schools have done the same. SAT scores and your GPA are important too, as are your accomplishments outside of the classroom in sports, clubs, jobs, or volunteer activities. Good luck getting into the school of your choice!

There are no guarantees. A recent news article on admissions to universities this year pointed out that Harvard turned down hundreds of applicants with perfect SAT math scores and turned down dozens of valedictorians.

The average Ivy League students have 4.0 GPA, lots of extracurricular activities and 2200/2400 SAT scores. If that is the average, you can bet that lots of people with those kinds of credentials will be turned down. Granted, those people will still get into some good school -- but nothing is guaranteed.
