For the entire existence of mankind, he has struggled with the question, What happens after death?
Those who hold to the world view of atheism believe that, at death, one ceases to exist. If this is the future of mankind, then we must come to the same conclusion as atheist philosophers of the past. Life is absurd and meaningless without God or immortality.
To those who hold the world view of pantheism, one goes through the endless cycle of reincarnation until the cycle is broken and the person becomes one with the divine.
Those who hold to the animistic religions believe that after death the human soul travels to the land of the underworld, also called the realm of the shadows. For eternity they wander in darkness, experiencing neither joy nor sorrow.
However, the Bible gives us a unique, contrasting view of death. Upon our physical death, the soul is separated from the body and enters immediately into the presence of the Lord. We will not remain in heaven as a soul without a body. At God’s appointed time, there will be a final resurrection where the spirit will be unified with the resurrected body. We know that our glorified bodies will be like that of Christ. We will not be deity like He is, but we will have the same qualities of His resurrection body. What awaits the believer after death is a glorious future that cannot truly be imagined!

I think they exist everywhere they want to exist. We don't know for sure though, even though some of us think we do. There may even be another (different) type of death after our human death here on Earth.
There are so many possibilities, I cannot be sold/convinced on just one idea/concept that I have no proof for. I will never have enough proof until I get there myself.
This sounds like a question that somebody asks when they have just lost someone they love. I am so sorry for your loss. May peace be with you. . . Time heals.
:)

it depends on what you believe, for me after death there is eternal life with god but if you want to say people can be reborn or float in the air, it just depends all on you.

The body sleeps in the ground and the spirit goes to its reward! So you don't believe in GOD? Well you can run but you can't hide. I should become a preacher because I can know the real truth and its great and fearfully awesome to say the least!

Well, the body decomposes and becomes food and life for other organisms.
Now, what happens after death? Purely up to you, because no one knows for sure until they die, and the dead aren't talking.

I believe ( according to my religion, buddhism) that we are reborn over and over till we attain 'nirvana'-A state of simply exclusion of all desires, so you have no reason to be born.

Perhaps nowhere. A lot of people don't like this answer. But the main idea is that a limited lifespan is long enough. Why should we keep on going forever? What purpose would that serve?

None of us living on Earth can know this right now. But I always say I'm going to go to medical school. That's my plan.

we all have energy inside of our bodies (some consider it our soul) but anywho... it is a PROVEN FACT- that energy can not just disappear. so when you die that energy has to go SOMEWHERE.
-and that somewhere is up to you. believe what you want.
i PERSONALLY- think that they're may not be a "god" as some may call it... but i think that there deffinatly IS a higher level of energy to which created us..and to which we will return to once life is over.
