It depends but I'm going to go with false for me. It's not really easy to tell for sure if a person is lying to you unless they have a reputation for it.

False. I had a friend that was a compulsive liar and I didn't know it till we lived together. I caught her lying to someone and she really believed what she said was the truth. Later, I found out her whole family was like that.
