"Photosynthesis (photo=light, synthesis=putting together), generally, is the synthesis of glucose from sunlight, carbon dioxide and water, with oxygen as a waste product."
Oxygen isn't needed for photosynthesis carbon dioxide is which is produced by oxygen breathing animals.
The best way you can show this is to create a closed environment with a plant and a small animal in a jar and another jar where there is just a plant.
In the jar with the plant and the small animal the plant would survive longer because it would create oxygen for the animal which would in turn create Carbon dioxide for the plant.
You could make observations about the both plants' status overtime.
You could also discuss the carbon dioxide-oxygen cycle.
In a way without the oxygen there would be no way for animals to live and produce carbon dioxide for plants. That is the only way I think you can prove that oxygen is need for photosynthesis.

Oxygen is not needed for photosynthesis .Photosynthesis takes the O2 out and keeps the C . Look it on the net under photosynthesis ,it has a good explanation.

There would be no point in pursuing such an experiment since photosynthesis does not use oxygen.

i dont think that photosinthesis need oxigene , but if it does here wut i think is the right thing:
-cover a green leaf in a tree with a plastic bag, let it live in it for som days...
-when its covered with the bag , it wont be able 2 get oxigene
then take the leaf from the tree and boil it in alcohol to ... and then putt it in ioddic watter (or whatever they call it :P) and it will not turn purple , so the photosynthesis didnt happen. while when it happens it turns purple...
anyway ,im not sure that photosinthesis needs oxygene , but as i said , if it does that would be the right expewriment..., may be my information arent good enough , but i hope i helped u with wut i know...
