Is he trying to hide the truth to protect others in the White House?

Because King Bush told him to just play dumb. Protecting others in the White House is exactly what he is doing in my opinoin. The whole Bush bunch are watching each others backs. If you are a part of that bunch and don't watch the others backs they throw you to the wolves. Look at Liddy, Delay, Dashel, and many more than I can remember. All in tight at one time then the axe falls.

I think it's in the water. There are so many in the current administration who have used the term "I don't recall".
My guess is that he's covering his butt AND trying to protect others in the white house.
