-5 = -1 * 5 = -1 * 5
-15 = -1 * 15 = -1 * 3 * 5

-5/-15 = (-1 * 5) / (-1 * 3 * 5)

The -1 and 5 in the numerator and denominator cancel because

-1 / -1 = 1
and
5 / 5 = 1

which leaves:

(1 * 1) / (1 * 1 * 3) = 1 / 3

A negative number divided by another negative number is a positive number; if only one or the other is negative, the answer is negative; if both are positive, then the answer is positive (same rule applies for multiplication). So (-5/-15) is the same as (5/15), which is 1/3.

2 "-" = a "+"

(-5) / (-15) = 0.333333333

ignore the " - "

so 5 / 15 = 0.33333333

so u end up with -5 / -15 = 0.333333333 or 1/3 either way it all the same :)
