US authorities seized on Tuesday the anti-Castro Cuban terrorist and former CIA agent, Luis Posada Carriles, in Miami, after giving a news conference to local media outlets. The move could have major political implications for President Bush, who has promised to pursue terrorists but has been reluctant to offend his Cuban American constituency.
Posada Carriles is wanted by Venezuela for the 1976 bombing of a Cuban airliner that killed 73 people in that country. The Cuban anti-communist was under arrest in a Caracas' prison waiting for his sentence until 1985, when he escaped to Central America. There, he worked for the US Contra rebels in Nicaragua and plotted the bombing of a hotel in Havanna in 1997, killing one tourist. Posada Carriles later admitted his participation in the terrorist act.

Castro Leads Cuba's Biggest Anti-American March
By Andrew Cawthorne
HAVANA (Reuters) - In a show of physical vigor belying his collapse on stage last month, President Fidel Castro (news - web sites) led more than 1.2 million Cubans on Thursday in the largest anti-U.S. protest in four decades of hostilities.
Wearing white tennis shoes and his trademark olive-green military garb, Castro strode off at exactly 8 a.m. (8 a.m. EDT) at the head of a sea of demonstrators marching past Washington's diplomatic mission on Havana's sea-front Malecon boulevard.
The march was billed by the ruling Communist Party as a protest against all U.S. ``aggressions and crimes'' since Castro's 1959 revolution -- ranging from the long-running economic embargo to this year's jailing of five Cuban agents, accused of spy-related charges.
``Down with the genocidal blockade! ... End the terrorism against Cuba! ... Free the heroes who defend their people from death!'' chanted the marchers, waving flags

Ever since Bush proposed that silly "democracy agenda", Thailand and Fiji have become military dictatorships.
Way to go Bush... Not.

Go to Miami and you'll see why. The economy would suffer especially Florida and Dade County. Also, Cuba is no threat to the US mainland. Eventually Castro will die and maybe then Cuba can at least be opened to US tourism. It's a beautiful place kinda like Puerto Rico. Great beaches and really clear water. Before Castro, it was bigger than Las Vegas for an absolute 24/7 party. After Castro closed it to the US, the Mafia moved to Vegas and built the foundation of what you see there today.

You don't seem to know anything about what's really going on. You must have a clue to ask for a clue. That is not why the US (not the President) is in Iraq. The Congress and the Senate voted the USA into Iraq--NOT President Bush. DA.
And Cuba is happy being communist. Why else would they love Castro so much?
Iraqis under Saddam were massacred daily before the Americans came to their aid. We're not the only country over there.

You make statements which are unproven as accepted proven facts. If this kind of evidence were presented against a terrorist captured in Iraq, you would be up in arms protesting.
The USA does NOT turn illegal aliens over to countries that would likely torture them and where they would not receive a fair trial. Cuba has given refuge to a number of murders and terrorist who escaped from the USA.
I think that we should spread Democracy to Cuba, but the Democrats in Congress and otherwise want that form of government here.

The people arent Anti-America. The government is. More so at least... everyone has their own opinion. But i dont think the people of cuba despise America like you think they do. Democracy will actually bring new age things which they lack in cuba. They're still driving around in cars from the 1950's, and due to the dictatorship, they probably dont even know there IS an America! who knows. call me crazy but democracy might do some good.

even with the actual undeniable actuality that we predict of of Castro as a dictator, it appears that evidently that the Cuban human beings love him and evaluate him a protector. i do not imagine there is any reason to harass Cuba, so as that possibly potential we will invade them too. must be curious to ascertain what a cuban citizen or political commentator has to assert on the issue. sturdy placed up.

Because Cuba, at least, is a WORKING communism (ironically) because the people there would rather be told what to do than do it themselves. I usually hate communism (being conservative) but in Cuba, it works.
