true or not? I've seen some questions especially on Y!A that make you wonder if there really are stupid questions ... what do you think?

Where's the fun if there are no stupid questions? So yeah, lots of stupid questions here at Y!A...but the thing that really gets me is that some of those people asking are clueless that they are being stupid. Go figure.

There is no such thing as a dumb question. In some cases people really don't know something, that the rest of us find to be common knowledge. And then there are questions that are intentionally silly but aren't dumb simply because of the reason they were asked. For example:
When someone writes on here "Is the sky blue" they aren't asking because they want to know, but because it's something to do. People who ask these "stupid" question are usually expecting stupid answers. Now those are real. Stupid answers are running while on Y! answers!!

The statement is true, when used in it's original, intended, context. In the classroom or other teaching environment. On YA there are some really stupid questions, usually asked by someone trying to be funny.
