Can someone please help me and loads of kids where i Live? As anyone who reads my profile will know I live in Bulgaria now and the teacher in the local school reckons he can make water by simply mixing in the classroom O2 and H2, is this possible? I know bugger al about chemistary or physics and neither do these poor kids, the teacher strikes me as a bit of a person who wants to keep simple people simple and its made my blood boil to the point where i will give my email here to get the truth. So please people who know help me and these children either on here or by mailing me imgbulgaria@yahoo.com and I will pass serious answers to their teacher. My next door neighbours lad said if it was possible why cant he stop the droughts in the world if its so easy, this he asked the teacher who and I quote said '' shut up your a Gypsy'' Please help me and these youngsters out. Thank you. PK

Yes - you can burn Oxygen (O2) in Hydrogen (H2) and get water (H2O) and a lot of heat. This is used by a number of liquid fueled rockets (eg. Saturn 5)

Uisng O2 and H2 to make water costs at least 10,000 times as much as simply catching & cleaning the water that falls out of the sky.

The simple way to make H2 and O2 is to start with water and break it down using Electricity (in a process known as Electrolysis).

NB.re: droughts - before propoosing solutions maybe the lad next door needs to think about where the O2 and H2 comes from :-)
