No, I would never make anyone take their shoes off or make them wear any. As a full-time barefooter I don't like any footwear requests unless there's a very compelling reason, like a really dangerous hardhat area. Some people are just as uncomfortable without their shoes as I would be wearing them; a little dirt isn't important enough in my book to do that to someone. If you had *loads* of mud on your shoes, I'd ask you to do something about that but the outdoor hose is a valid option as well.

Yes I would, because it's a habit I picked up from my mother. I never wear shoes around the house, just socks.
